Marcus has worked for a number of organisations in the UK financial services sector over the last 20 years.
A graduate of St Andrews University (MA Hons Econ) and London Business School (Executive MBA), Marcus’ early career was in financial services regulation at the Bank of England and Financial Services Authority. He subsequently spent a number of years at Prudential Plc in a variety of P&L management, strategy and risk roles.
Marcus joined Lloyds Banking Group in 2009. As a member of the leadership team in Group Audit he has worked closely with the Insurance and Retail businesses over that time, most recently as Audit Director (Insurance).
A mix of pragmatism, high standards, tenacious drive and ability to deliver through others means Marcus is a valuable leader who can be trusted to convert his strategic insight into action.
Outside of work, Marcus is busy with his three young sons and takes refuge in his enthusiasm for classic cars when time permits. He has a strong moral and social compass and combines his passion for child welfare and music as a Trustee of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama’s Foundation for Young Musicians, and as Director of both Mow & Grow and The Grow Organisation.
Why Marcus joined the Board:
“ For the unique opportunity to support Alex and the Board in the development of this exciting social enterprise as it now builds an ambitious plan for growth, diversifying its activities and reaching out to help more people.”
