Committed to serving those who protect our community
The Grow Organisation remains committed to serving those who protect our community. Whether they be military personnel or blue-light services professionals, the doors to our Thursday drop-in are always open.
We may joke (just a little) about the baking prowess of our very own and oh so awesome #ArmyChef Martin but on a serious note, we have one of the (if not THE) best attended veterans drop-in in the region. Colleagues and comrades providing a unique network of brother(sister)hood, support and advice. And on that front, we were delighted that the East of England Coop kindly supported our efforts with an amazing donation of £1,000! A lovely early Xmas present that should keep us in tea bags and biccies for a while!
In other news, we recently joined ASDIC, the Association of Ex-Forces Drop-In Centres and this is opening doors to greater support and services. Both The Grow Organisation and Mow & Grow signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant and on her recent trip to the Tower of London, beloved leader aka ‘Wing Commander’ Cosgrove-Gilbert received a lovely surprise, a Bronze Employer Recognition Award for our commitment to employing ex-forces personnel. In the Spring we hope to roll out our own employment framework and press for Silver, at the very least!
Along with our strong connection to The British Legion and SSAFA, 2019 promises many more positive links with both local and national veteran organisations.
We use the hashtag #TogetherWeGrowStronger because all we do (and plan to do in the future) is only possible through the kind dedication and support of Hubsters like you. Whether it be volunteering a few hours to offer an ear, a kind donation or gift to auction or by simply spreading the good word and agreeing to being part of our social (and actual) network, we thank you sincerely for your service and look forward to bringing you more great positive news during 2019.
Much love and best wishes – The Grow Org Team
