The end of 2010 saw two cohorts of learners achieving Level 1 award in Employability and Personal Development with a success rate of 100%. Our External Verifier report described the quality of the learner work as amongst the best seen, the quality of training and assessment as excellent and there was clear evidence of staff going ‘an extra mile‘ in supporting the learners.
Following this very positive report we ran Level 2 award in Employability and Personal Development for our Team Leaders in January 2011 with the focus on developing their role and responsibilities. We are using this award as the springboard for further staff development. Our key focus is on continuing to offer support and training to learners and staff which is fundamental to our Mission Statement and vision.
We achieved further success by being granted full approval to run the new Training, Assessment and Quality Assurance (TAQA) level 3 and 4 awards for assessors and verifiers. This will enable us to offer both in house and external training opportunities for assessors.
Our plans include developing further awards with City & Guilds including vocational qualifications. We appreciate greatly the continuing support and guidance we receive from City & Guilds Eastern Region in particular from the Business Manager and External Verifier.
